Mavi Lounge Hosts Grand Opening Event

Fairfield Mayor James Gasparini cut the ceremonial red ribbon, joining Essex County residents in celebrating the opening of Fairfield’s Mavi Lounge Restaurant on November 11. Guests sipped specialty cocktails and enjoyed a sampling of Executive Chef Jarrett Bennett’s hors d’oeuvres—all infused with worldly flavors and seasonings from Morocco, Ecuador, France, Israel, Italy, and Japan. Favorites included the Bay Scallop Ceviche Spoons and the Tapioca Crusted Shrimp Skewers.
Bennett, who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, worked for Michael Mina Aqua at Las Vegas’s Bellagio Hotel, as well as the Seablue Restaurant at the MGM Grand before lending his culinary expertise to the Mavi Lounge menu.
