Halo Offers Ideas and Savings for the Home
By Cristin Kettle Published: 02/08/2010
It’s safe to say that we all agree it’s not a good time to even think about selling your home. There are, however, many alternatives to creating a living space that is not only comfortable and gives you a better quality of life, but will also have a great future return on your investment.
Small improvements can bring large rewards—and not just monetary—including that priceless feeling of contentment when living in a space that is relaxing with creature comforts, and is your paradise to return to after a hard day of work.
Maybe the kids are getting older and you would like to add an extra bedroom? Perhaps the convenience of a home office or hobby room appeals to you? Or it might be just expanding the size of the family room that is what you need? There are countless home improvements that can be accomplished without spending a ton of money.
Home improvements can be as simple as opening a wall or putting up a partition wall to create an extra living area that makes the world of difference.
Start by making a dream list of home improvements in order of priority, then see how easy it is to turn those dreams into reality.
If you’re a creative person, you might want to divide a space to create a craft room. A fashionista may dream of a walk-in closet. Or the foodie might just love to update the kitchen where there are ways to make it more functional and updated without a complete tear-out renovation. Simple re-facing techniques for cabinets and a new countertop can give that old kitchen an improved look.
One of the latest trends is a getaway room for the man (a “Man Cave”)—even if it’s in a finished basement. Think about adding a workout room, a recreation area with a pool table and video games, a media room, or just simply a nice place to hang out with the guys, decorated your way. People will find that it is not a huge investment to turn a basement into a functional living area in most cases.
Most home improvement companies have lowered their costs and are offering discounts, but going with cheaper doesn’t always equal better. Be smart and work with a company that is licensed and insured. They should not afraid to give you a list of references—who you absolutely need to call.
At Halo Design Concepts, customer satisfaction is our top priority. Each job, both large and small, is treated with the same level of perfection creating happy customers who bring repeat business and refer their friends and family.
